don't pretend

I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.

wait a minute

yes, the new life, sorta, is taking shape. at a slow, often annoying pace, but taking shape.

what sucks now won't suck as much in a year, right?

that's what I keep telling myself.

yeah, keep telling yourself that.

new life, sorta

whew, that last post, one might think my garden has been trampled. well, it feels like it sometimes! I am still feeling a bit lost but am also feeling empowered. can one feel both emotions simultaneously?

my poor garden

my licorice garden. my poor licorice garden. it is wilting. it is growing weeds. I can't seem to be able to find my way through all the extra growth here..and it isn't good growth but rather the sort of growth that if left untended to, can destroy something.

and I don't want my garden destroyed.

not now, not ever.

thoughts on love

*Love is everything it's cracked up to be…It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for.

*Is love supposed to last throughout all time, or is it like trains changing at random stops. If I loved her, how could I leave her? If I felt that way then, how come I don't feel anything now?

*Passion is seldom the end of any story, for it cannot long endure if it is not soon supplemented with true affection and mutual respect.

*To be brave is to love someone unconditionally, without expecting anything in return. To just give. That takes courage, because we don't want to fall on our faces or leave ourselves open to hurt.

*The first duty of love is to listen.

*We don't always get to choose what we love.

so much.

why is it this way? the first step is the hardest one...I must take it. for ME. so that others know it is ME and not them..

maybe it is what I need...exactly what I need.

then why is it so hard to do? change is always difficult. but whoever said it would be easy?

I am promising to myself to think about it, to really think about it. for once, think of ME. and once I do that, the clarity will show itself and my life will begin on a path for me.

just for me.

journey

life.

life is a journey and sometimes the journey can be difficult. there are many peaks and valleys along the way. what if somewhere along the way, you find yourself in the valleys and the only way out is to is to trample people along the way? no one can travel through this thing we call life without getting hurt or hurting someone else.

can people change? can people outgrow each other? can relationships meet the needs and one or both people need to move on? how do you do that without someone getting hurt?

~

the title lacks boldness and out there finesse, doesn't it? that is how my life feels. how do you want something but just can't figure out how to get there?...

Life is filled with choices, so decide and move on without regrets,
then you'll be controlling your destiny :)

funny how time can get away from you, isn't it?

so much yet so little has happened. little in the way of the big things but big in the way of the little things.

little things can mean so very much. and in the big picture, aren't the little things important, too?

the coffee shop

IRISH VIAGRA

An Irish woman of advanced age visited her physician to ask his help in reviving her husband's libido."What about trying Viagra?" asked the doctor.
"Not a chance", she said. "He won't even take an aspirin."
"Not a problem", replied the doctor. "Give him an 'Irish Viagra'. It's when you drop the Viagra tablet into his coffee. He won't even taste it. Give it a try and call me in a week to let me know how things went."
It wasn't a week later that she called the doctor, who directly inquired as to the progress and the poor dear exclaimed, "Oh, faith, bejaysus and begorrah! T'was horrid! Just terrible, doctor!"
"Really? What happened?" asked the doctor.
"Well, I did as you advised and slipped it in his coffee. The effect was almost immediate. He jumped straight up with a twinkle in his eye and his pants a-bulging fiercely! With one swoop of his arm, he sent the cups and tablecloth flying, ripped me clothes to tatters and made love to me passionately on the tabletop! It was a nightmare, I tell you, an absolute nightmare!"
"Why so terrible?" asked the doctor. "Do you mean the sex your husband provided wasn't good?" "Twas the best sex I've had in 25 years! But sure as I'm sittin' here, I'll never be able to show my face in Starbucks again!"
