golden what?

is anyone else watching the golden globes? when I was younger, I used to watch these award shows all of the time. as I got older, I sort of passed them by. but tonight, for some strange reason, I wanted to watch.

we are only half way through but I am enjoying them!

onto life....

we have accomplished many things around the house this weekend. we finally got the tree down and packed away until next year. I went through many things in our seemingly catch all room...oh the things I found!

and football. my hubby's eagles won and will move onto the cardinals.

really? sort of a boring night and weekend. boring but really relaxing, too.

geez, what innocent banter can do to a girl!

that almost every time I come here, to just check in, the song Question is the one to play. if you aren't familiar with it, check it out there on the sidebar. it is an Old 97's tune. I was first introduced to it earlier this year by an old friend. Question is a short tune, only about two and a half minutes, but a good tune.

well, how was it?

the holidays, that is. how were they? they were good here. we always seem to take forever to open gifts though. almost every one has to be opened with everyone else watching, waiting.

I made the holiday dinner, too. first time since I have been married...and that has been 14 years. before our kids, we were always at one parents' house or another. once our kids came along, we stayed home. only my mother in law always made dinner...even when we always host the DAY gathering. we go to church on EVE and then over to their house.

she made dinner.

then on the actual holiday, they came over to our house. and...

she still made dinner.

so this year, I offered, without allowing any much resistance. finally, I was granted permission to make dinner. I think my in laws just don't like my cooking because over the years, I could probably count on one hand the times I have made a meal for them.

I could also get into more family dynamics but will resist the urge politely decline to do so.

well, how was it at your house?

the decision has been made. and it isn't over. I know everyone isn't going to be happy with it, even me, I am not happy with it. but everything considered, it is the best decision.

number 26

I still have so much to do and so little time. what a cliche, huh? I am finished with holiday cards but still have some of them to mail. I am nowhere finished with shopping. I am usually all done and almost done with the wrapping at this time. the holiday came on me quickly this year. with thanksgiving so late, there wasn't much time between. plus throw in my on line class for a few weeks and poof!, there it goes.

right now I am struggling with the decision to go home at all for the holiday or not. my hubby will be working so he can't go at all. do I want to travel with the kids alone in the winter? it would be a shorter visit...only a few days. I have been home so much in the past six months. I would certainly miss my family for the holiday but the thought of staying home and actually relaxing is very tempting. just thinking of what I have left to do BEFORE christmas is daunting...then throw in laundry and packing for three? I am not sure if I need the stress the traveling comes with.

I will be giving this much thought and plan on making my decision sometime tomorrow. it is only fair to my family that they know. some of us need to mail gifts, etc. ah, the age old stress of the holidays....
